All North Salt Lake Camps for ages 12-18

Days Monday - Wednesday

Time: 8-10 am

Location: North Salt Lake

June 2 -4   Baseline Skill Measures Much of soccer can be subjective but some things are not. Speed, agility, and accuracy with and without the ball play a huge role in your ability to execute your role on the field at the highest level. This mini-camp will test each of these skills and provide you with baseline measures that you can use to monitor your improvement. Then you will receive professional instruction and specific exercises that will help you to grow as a player and improve these baseline numbers, effectively sharpening your toolbox on the field and bringing out the best in your game.

June 9-11  Striking with Speed and Accuracy. Having a powerful shot is only a small part of actually putting the ball in the back of the net on the field.  Finishing at a high level requires the right mix of power, finesse, speed, accuracy, and the ability to do it all under pressure.  This mini-camp will teach you how to execute each and every important aspect of finishing and challenge you to do so under pressure with speed and accuracy. With these new tools you will be on your way to leading your team to victory even in the most challenging, high-pressure moments.

June 16-18   Advanced Ball Handling Skills. We’ve all had a coach who insists that we ALWAYS use the inside of our foot to shoot or pass or yells “No toe-blows” when we strike the ball. These fundamentals are extremely important when just beginning to learn the game and the basics of ball control, but a truly advanced player must move beyond these simple instructions. The most creative players on the field look at every part of their body as an option to move the ball where they need it to be effective in any situation on the field. This mini-camp will teach you how to see your entire foot (and the rest of your body) as a tool to move the ball exactly where you want it in any moment, putting you in total control of the game.

June 23-25  Creating the Moment to Score. Scoring opportunities are hard to come by. Too often we rely on individual brilliance to create those moments. With the right strategies though, we can manufacture these moments over and over again, without the game having to be decided by a single player.  In this mini-camp you will use your body, movement on and off the ball, and your innate creativity to consistently create moments of opportunity with your team in the final 3rd of the field.  When all is said and done, you will see the field and the opposing team as a simple puzzle to be solved, with countless solutions that you can choose whenever you like. Learn to create the gaps, exploit the gaps, and score, leaving the opposition completely lost.

July 7-9  Striking with Speed and Accuracy.

July 14-16  Baseline Numbers and Retest of First Weeks Baseline Numbers. If you missed the first week of baseline numbers here is your opportunity to see where you stand. Knowing these numbers is the key to increasing speed and other measurable attributes on the field. Bryan will give each individual player specific suggestions so you can continue to monitor your progress. For those in the first camp, see how your scores have improved over the past 7 weeks. This mini camp will retest all the skills in the Baseline Camp and show you where you’ve improved, what to work on, with updated specific exercises to help you grow as a player and make your mark on the pitch.

Days: Monday-Wednesday

Time: 9-11 am

Ages from 8-13 Depending on the Specific Camp Week

June 2-4  Ages 8-9  Foundational skills and technique will be the focus of this fun and energetic mini-camp. Learning how to “do it right” from the beginning makes player development much smoother. When learning the fundamentals of the sport the player needs to work hard while having fun. Studies have shown that children cite “fun” as the most important part of playing sports. Learning to love the game is easy when you’re having fun. Loving the game is the reason kids continue to play.

June 9-11  Ages 10-11 This mini-camp will focus on technical skills and tactical play. This is the age where players need to advance their skill set in order to keep developing. Learning technical and tactical components of the game will bring great results on the pitch and a winning mindset.

June 16-18  Ages 12-14 What makes a player stand out on the pitch? Every player needs to have a great foundation and at this age they need to be able to make their mark in the game. Increasing Soccer IQ, and incorporating that knowledge into play is the focus of this minicamp, by teaching movement on the ball, how to exploit the opponents weakness and become a threat on the field.

June 23-25  Ages 8-9  Footwork. Every player on the field must have great footwork, yes GKs  that includes you  too! With good footwork, advancing your game becomes more consistent. While advancing the ball and when under pressure, proper footwork can make the difference. Footwork on and off the ball will be the major components of this camp within a fun and nurturing environment.

July 7-9  Ages 10-11  Shooting. Everyone loves to shoot, but do your players understand the hows and whys of shooting? Can they shoot with speed, with accuracy, and do they know when to execute each type of shot? As an added treat, the players will learn how to bend the ball, the skill we are asked to teach most often by players in this age group!

July 14-16  Ages 12-14  Advanced Play. Players at this age are on the cusp of playing High School Ball and for those interested, being seen by College Coaches. What are the coaches looking for in players ? Can your player properly execute the various aspects of the game that will get the coach’s attention? This camp will focus on smart play and proper technique and how to respond to pressure. Soccer IQ will increase and so will the player’s confidence.

“I can’t say enough about what EDA has done for my daughter. Through EDA, she learned to be confident and take ownership of her life and goals. She learned new skills and EDA gives her the confidence to bring them to her game. She lacked confidence in herself and her game, but is now setting goals of to play D1 Soccer. The trainers encourage her to work hard, not just on her physical game but on her mental game as well. It’s a training environment that encourages trying new things and making mistakes to help players grow and learn. It has given her confidence to go to College ID Camps and contact coaches to help her achieve her goals. I’ll forever be grateful to the lessons she has learned for life and not just about soccer. Special thanks to Jocelyn for helping my daughter love and learn the game.”

“Our daughter has been going to EDA for 6 years—through junior high and high school. EDA is a place where she grows and experiments. She tries out new parts of her game that eventually make it into her play, maybe not for a year but they always come through. She has gained skill, confidence, and work ethic and developed into a player who is competitive to continue playing in college. EDA gave her the skills to contact coaches and develop her highlights in addition to bringing her game to ID camps. The motto is “Own Your Game” and working with the coaches and other players at EDA, she has grown into a person who owns her life on and off the field.”

WE KNOW YOUTH SOCCER

Elite Development Academy is the first program for Utah soccer players that brings professional coaches, trainers, and players together in a challenging environment conducive to increasing confidence and technical ability. There’s more to training youth athletes than just working with a coach once a week, never knowing who the coach will be the following session. When the player and coach form a bond, then magic happens. At EDA we care about each player and we know each player. We encourage our players to love the game and to Own their Game. This simply means playing for themselves because they love the game and not for any other reason.

When a player knows they “OWN THEIR GAME” it gives them the freedom to learn new things and take chances. At EDA we make learning fun and guide our players through any frustration they may feel as they master new skills. When a player is having fun, they play great soccer.

At EDA we are not seeking large number of players, but rather quality of players. We limit our player numbers so that we can individually help every player on their path, because we know that each player is unique. We are proud to say that every one of our players, who completed our program and wanted to play in college made that goal. Our players have played Junior College through D-1. There is one small exception because one player is now “Rowing” at a D-1 school rather than playing soccer. Our players learn to be resilient, they learn that grades are important, that time-management is crucial for an athlete to live a balanced life. Our players want to play because they love the game. Our players find the joy of playing comes from inside them, so they can “Own their Game”..

The EDA philosophy is simple: Treat each player with respect, ask each player their goals, and make a plan for each to achieve those goals. In return, we expect our players to be respectful to their trainer and the other players in the class.

All our trainers have the education and experience with youth players and understand developmental philosophy.
